Early decisions allow for winners to make travel plans to attend the presentation events. These events are publicity opportunities for the winner, sponsor and WCA and are central to our marketing strategies as well. WCA members serve as scholarship committee members to review and decide scholarship winners for the WCA Career Scholarship and other awards offered through WCA. Sponsors may choose to rely on the committee or to self-decide the winner or some combination of the two. In some cases, for example, the committee chose the top 5 and the sponsor selected the final winner.
