2019 Fall Training Scholarship Offerings
Scholarship Window Opens -July 15th

Award Presentation at NBAA Scholarship & Networking, Oct 23rd
All applications should include:
- 1-page recommendation letter
- 500-word descriptive essay for each application
- 1 professional resume
- Copies of all aviation and medical certificates
- Last two pages of your pilot logbook if applying for flight scholarships
- Any other applicable information as requested for each specific award grant or scholarship,
- WCA completed application
Your essay should include: your aviation history, goals in aviation, what you have done to achieve your goals, where you see yourself in 5 and 10 years, how the scholarship will help you achieve your goals, your financial need, the training or education for which you will be using the scholarship, The cost breakdown for the training been requested if applying for a cash scholarship, how your previous training was financed, demonstrated involvement in aviation activities and WCA.
Applicants must be a member of WCA by August 25, 2019.

CAPS Aviation FAR 135.331 – Crewmember Emergency Training & Pilot Emergency Training (2 Offerings) – Value: $750 each
This training is required for all crewmembers on each aircraft type, model, and configuration, each crewmember, and each kind of operation conducted, as appropriate for each crewmember and the certificate holder. FAR 135.331 Emergency training is subdivided into three groups: 1). General Emergency Training, 2). Emergency Situation Training and 3). Emergency Drill Training. This training also includes the requirements of G550 Evacuation Crewmember Training. Training meets all applicable regulations for emergency procedures training as required under CFR Parts 91, 125, 135, JAR OPS1, IS-BAO standards. Certificates of training are issued for one year.
DAVINCI INFLIGHT TRAINING INSTITUTE: THE CULINARY EXPERIENCE ELITE – $4,775
This 5-Day Elite level (advanced) culinary and skills training program is designed with hands-on interactive culinary training combined with instructor lecture, visual presentations, detailed manuals, handout materials and all needed tools to successfully complete the lessons. Each class is taught by aviation industry expert Paula Kraft and conducted in the state-of-the art culinary lab at DaVinci Inflight Training Institute in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Executive Jet Management Training Scholarship – Value: $2,000
Executive Jet Management is very pleased to award a one-time scholarship to a deserving candidate pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in an aviation-related field. Ideal courses of study include training and education for pilots, corporate flight attendants, dispatchers, aircraft maintenance technicians, and aviation managers.
Applicants should submit for consideration:
- Two letters of recommendation
- High school or college (or equivalent) transcript
- Copies of flight logs (if applicable)
- One-page essay detailing his or her goals in their course of study, what they hope to achieve in their aviation career, and how they intend to “pay it forward” to promote aviation to others as they progress through their career
FlyGirl Sporty’s Advanced Pilot Training Scholarship – Value: $3,100
Natalie Fiser Kelley is proud to offer her first Corporate Scholarship to any female WCA member pursuing an Advanced Pilot Certificate or Rating. The award includes $3,000 towards pilot training along with lodging and entrance fees to NBAA in Las Vegas for the awards ceremony in October 2019. Winner must attend WCA’s Scholarship & Networking luncheon at NBAA, Las Vegas at their own expense except for room which will be included.
Scholarship funds may be used to pay for Advanced Flight Training (i.e. Multi Engine, Instructor Certificates, ATP/CTP Courses or ATP).
Applicants must hold at least a Private Pilot Certificate. Applications must include:
- (2) 1-Page Recommendations
- 1- Page Essay to include goals, future plans in aviation, what the funds will be used for and how it will help towards your goals, financial need, cost and budget towards Certificate, any leadership, mentoring, aviation activities, volunteering or involvement.
- Copy of Pilot Certificate as proof of PPL
- Valid Medical Certificate
- 1 page of Log Book along with proof of currency for the award, i.e., ATP must include proof of your ATP/CTP certification and logbook hours proving eligibility to obtain the award.
- Applicant must attend award ceremony to receive the award
Jetstream Aviation Law Scholarship – Value: $1,000
Michelle Wade & Lori McGee of Jetstream Aviation Law, PA are offering a $1,000 scholarship to help any aspiring aviator pursuing any aspect of corporate aviation. Michelle & Lori have been involved in the aviation industry for over 20 years and focus on acquisitions, financing and leasing transactions for corporate jets. They practice law in the District of Columbia, Kansas and Missouri and are frequent speakers at Aviation conferences. JetstreamLaw.com.
Additional requirements: This scholarship is available to help anyone with a financial need and may be applied to any aspect of corporate aviation. Therefore, in the standard essay the applicant must include a paragraph detailing how you plan to use the scholarship, what you have accomplished towards reaching your goals, a break-down of the costs of training/conference for which it will be used, and how this will help further your corporate aviation career. Examples of what the scholarship can be used for: CAM courses, flight training, insurance certifications, education, maintenance, tools, or conferences.
KAL Aviation Services Ltd. Maintenance Technician Training – Value: $1,000
KAL Aviation is a maintenance management company, offering expertise of over 30 years in business aircraft operations and aircraft maintenance management based in Farnborough in the UK. This scholarship is for those seeking training in aviation maintenance technician careers. Please state your expected (conservative) estimates of travel expenses to attend NBAA BACE with your essay. Some may be covered by the sponsor.
StandardAero Maintenance Technician Scholarship – Value: $3,000
StandardAero is pleased to offer StandardAero Maintenance Training Scholarship for $3,000. The scholarship is intended to help a female mechanic or a female pursuing any A&P certification with a goal of working as a Corporate mechanic in the US. The recipient may choose to use the money for: courses, tools, or education. The applicant should include a paragraph on what the scholarship will be used for and address her education or status in training if no certificates are yet achieved.

Susan Friedenberg Flight Attendant Scholarship – Value $4,200
What we offer in our four-day training program is the day to day job responsibilities of a business aviation flight attendant.
Our training program is an extensive training that focuses on developing and honing the skills and tools needed by today’s corporate aviation flight attendant. It covers in great detail the standard operating procedures that are utilized by most corporate aviation flight departments in the US. It is a training that encompasses everything needed to break into this elite industry in an educated and very professional manner. This is a strong comprehensive and informative training that has proven to be very successful in educating people and aiding them in finding work within business aviation.
Since the inception of this business aviation training 15 years ago, we have trained hundreds of people that are flying either full time or on a contract/freelance basis for Fortune 500 Corporate Flight Departments.
Additionally, five of our students are now Chief Flight Attendants for major corporate flight departments and three of our students are now teaching corporate specific emergency training. Universal Weather and Aviation Dispatch Scholarship (2 offerings) – Value: $3,695
The Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. Aircraft Dispatcher Course is offered in an online/classroom format.
The hybrid course is comprised of two elements: a four-month (17 week) self-paced online portion that can begin at any time and must be completed prior to arriving for the onsite session at Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. Headquarters located in Houston, Texas. Please plan on being in Houston a few extra days to complete your practical examination.
There are no experience-based prerequisites for taking this course. You must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English, have a high school diploma or GED, and have government-issued identification showing you are at least 21 years old (students must be at least 23 years old to take the practical examination). Students also require online access via any web enabled device.

Funded by its membership, this award is for any person pursuing professional development or career advancement in any job classification of “corporate and/or business aviation”. The award must be used toward a specific program of education. Suggested uses include: Flight Training, Dispatcher Training, Maintenance Training, Corporate Flight Attendant Training and Leadership Training (i,e. NBAA CAM).The award cannot be used for general business course work.
The WCA Career Scholarship will not be awarded to a previous winner of the WCA Career scholarship within a 12-month period.
