POSITION SUMMARY

 

Our Maintenance Technicians are responsible for performing aircraft maintenance on corporate jets, including planning maintenance efficiently and effectively to maximize aircraft availability while demonstrating a thorough knowledge of the Repair Station Manual (RSM) and Desert Jet’s policies and procedures. They ensure operational goals and objectives are met, while guaranteeing all aircraft maintenance documentation is executed in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies and procedures, and applicable maintenance manuals.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Participate in regular training and development programs to maintain current knowledge and skills.
  • Communicate effectively with other maintenance personnel and management, and provide updates on work progress, issues, and any potential delays or concerns.
  • Actively participates in the continuous improvement of the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and is familiar with the SMS policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the maintenance, repair, or inspection of aircraft to ensure an efficient return to service timeline.
  • Stay updated with FAA regulations, industry standards, and best practices related to aircraft maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager, fellow Aircraft Maintenance Technicians, and Ground Operations to ensure an airworthy fleet that will sustain an on-time flight schedule.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement innovative solutions to enhance productivity and safety.
  • Be constantly alert for defective, wearing, or failing parts to be proactive in solving issues before they arise.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service with a professional and personable approach, consistently displaying a positive, helpful attitude, and demonstrating utmost consideration and courtesy towards all individuals.

Tactical Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks on various aircraft systems, including airframe, engines, electrical, hydraulic, and avionics.
  • Conduct thorough inspections, troubleshooting, and diagnostics to identify and rectify aircraft discrepancies.
  • Carry out repairs, replacements, and adjustments to ensure the airworthiness and reliability of aircraft. Replace faulty components, repair damaged parts, and perform system adjustments as required. Follow prescribed procedures and utilize approved tools and techniques to ensure proper repair and maintenance activities.
  • Complete detailed maintenance documentation accurately and promptly, including work orders, logbooks, and maintenance records.
  • Prepare accurate and concise reports on maintenance findings, repairs made, and any additional recommendations or requirements.
  • Ensure proper execution of an Aircraft worthiness release.
  • Coordinate with other technicians and support personnel to prioritize and execute maintenance tasks within given timelines.
  • Utilize various tools, equipment, and software systems for aircraft maintenance, such as diagnostic instruments, computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), and technical manuals.
  • Analyze complex systems and perform troubleshooting procedures to determine the root cause of problems and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Adhere to all relevant aviation regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and company policies to maintain aircraft airworthiness.
  • Adhere to company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Other duties as assigned in the GMM.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and supervision to junior technicians, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and maintenance procedures.
  • Train and mentor new technicians, promoting knowledge transfer and skill development.

Physical Demands:

  • Standing for long periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, etc.
  • Ability to work outdoors.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces to perform maintenance on smaller aircraft.
Requirements
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic certificate, in good standing, required.
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems, components, and maintenance procedures.
  • Strong understanding of FAA regulations, Part 145 requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and diagnosing aircraft discrepancies.
  • Proficiency in using various maintenance tools, equipment, and software systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow technical manuals and procedures.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced aviation maintenance environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
  • Ability to travel on occasion.
  • Valid Drivers License.

Preferred:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience as A&P
  • Experience working on/with private aircraft
  • Proficiency with Corridor
