SOUTHHAVEN, Miss. – June 1, 2015 – Women in Corporate Aviation (WCA), the premier non-profit mentoring association for professionals in corporate and business aviation, has announced its 2015 Fall Scholarships, which will be presented during the th Annual Luncheon at the NBAA Conference In Las Vegas in November, 2015. WCA members may apply by August 30, 2015.

The scholarship team is looking forward to another great year ahead of us! WCA is committed to helping you achieve your career goals through help from our sponsors and membership dues.  Each year we receive several cash and training scholarships from our generous sponsors who believe in helping those who have worked hard to achieve new heights within their careers.

Remember you must be an active member to apply. Many of the scholarship offerings do not cover travel and expenses. That includes the NBAA conference. As a winner of any scholarship you are responsible for your own travel expenses and conference fees if you decided to attend the conference.   • Aircare FACTS Training Value - Value: $4,675

    This five day initial or two day recurrent emergency procedures training for business aviation crewmembers is available at any of 50 plus Aircare FACTS Training programs throughout the United States. The initial training is divided into two day indoctrination/galley safety and service training and three day Aircare FACTS initial emergency procedures training. All training meets FAR Part 135 requirements, industry best practices and IS BAO standards.

  • ATI International Flight Procedures Training Scholarship - Value: $1,700


    Air Training International (ATI) is pleased to offer, for the first time, the ATI International Flight Procedures Training Scholarship. Geared toward the current professional pilot or one pursuing professional pilot education, ATI’s International Procedures Initial course melds international procedures with cockpit resource management concepts and aircraft performance considerations, into a truly worthwhile learning experience that emphasizes proactive execution over rote recitation. ATI’s Initial Training is available online or in-person at their Southlake, TX, facility and meets the recommended minimum training curriculum necessary for a pilot to be considered qualified for international operations as outlined in the Inspector’s Handbook 8900.1.

  • Corporate Flight attendant Training by Susan C. Friedenberg - Value: $4,200

    This four day training program covers the skills and tools needed by today’s business aviation flight attendant. It details the standard operational procedures utilized by most U.S. business aviation flight departments.

  • CAE SimuFlite CJ3 Type Rating Scholarship - Value: $22,000

    CAE SimuFlite, a Dallas based aviation training facility is pleased to announce a Citation Jet 3 Type Rating Scholarship. It will be awarded to a pilot who is a student or recently graduated from college with a bachelor’s degree within the last two years. The Scholarship will provide additional industry based training opportunities, broaden awareness in corporate aviation and assist with developing the individual’s career path. Citation Jet 3 Initial Training Course will be offered at CAE in Morristown, NJ and upon successful completion of the course a CJ3 Type Rating will be issued. The applicant is responsible for all travel/accommodation expenses and must be able to complete the training within a 6 month period.

  • Gulfstream Aerospace Corporate Maintenance Technology Scholarship - Value: $10,000 (2 Awards Total)

    Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. is awarding two separate $5,000 scholarships to anyone pursuing professional development or career advancement in any job classification of maintenance aviation technology. The scholarship is open to a woman pursuing a career in or directly related to Aviation Maintenance or currently enrolled in an Aviation Maintenance Technician Program (A&P), Avionics Training Program or a degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology. The award must be used toward a specific program of education in the area of aviation maintenance. Suggested uses include (but are not limited to):maintenance airframe and power plant (A&P) certificate, collegiate level aviation maintenance courses, and avionics certification. Award winner may be considered for future co op or internship position with Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation.

  • MedAire's Management of In­flight & Illness Training Course Scholarship - Value: $1,122)

    Recipients may elect to attend MedAir's signature 1dayinitial (or 1/2 day recurrent) e-learning trainingcourse which includes AED/CPR certification, blood borne pathogens, aviation medicine, travel health, and management of medical and traumatic emergencies. Courses are conducted at various locations around the globe.

  • Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. hybrid Aircraft Dispatcher Course - Value: $9,000 (3 Awards Total)

    The Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. hybrid Aircraft Dispatcher Course is comprised of two elements: afour month (17 week) self paced online portion and an 8day classroom session. This course allows you to complete the majority of the coursework online over a four month period. Once you complete the online requirements and pass the FAA Knowledge Test, you will spend 8 days at our training facility in Houston, TX to complete the practical portion of your training. Your FAA Practical Test will be scheduled following the successful completion of the 8day classroom session.

    Please plan on being in Houston a few extra days to complete the practical test. Scholarship does not include lodging, meals, or testing fees. Students are responsible for paying the two FAA testing fees. Hotel reservation assistance is available. Students have one (1) year to complete all online training requirements and the onsite session based on availability of class dates.

  • WCA Corporate Career Scholarship - Value: $2,000

    The Women in Corporate Aviation Career Scholarship is offered by the members and sponsors of Women inCorporate Aviation to any person pursuing professional development or career advancement in any jobclassification of corporate/business aviation. The award must be used toward a specific program of education. Suggested uses include (but are not limited to): Flight training, dispatcher training, maintenance training, corporate flight attendant training and upgrades in aviation education. The award cannot be used for general business course work. Scholarship will not be awarded to previous winners of Women in Corporate Aviation scholarships. If you are a pilot please submit copies of pilot licenses, medical and logbook pages with your application.

  • WCA Leadership Scholarship - Value: Up to $7,000

    "Are you Committed to Excellence and Prepared to Lead ?"

    The WCA Leadership Scholarship is awarded to assist with the costs of professional development toward careers in aviation management. FAA certification is preferred but strong candidates possessing a military, engineering, or business background are encouraged to apply.

    Your one page essay should describe your aviation experience, leadership goals, and a topic of your choice. The following themes are suggested but you may write on any topic you feel important.

    • - Excellence in the workplace
    • - Aviation Professionalism
    • - Challenges facing future aviation leaders
    • Scholarship funds may cover testing and study materials for qualified course.

      The award may be used for the following:

      • - NBAA Certified Aviation Manager Certification
      • - NBAA PDP courses including SDPD
      • - Aviation Safety and Security training courses (USC Viterbi programs)
      • - Aviation Management Certificate programs (ERAU).
